Monthly Archives: February 2015

Hi Guys! Since I didn’t get around to posting a list on Friday I have great need to release some of the dibs and dabs of loose information rolling around in my brain.

I am in a phase of blogging where I don’t know what I used to blog about. It happens periodically. Sometimes you have SO many options and they are all juggling for center stage. Other times, such as the present, you feel boring and nothing seems blob worthy.Maybe it’s winter?

I do know what some of the trouble is. I know many hurting people. Just since Christmas there have been four tragic and unexpected deaths, one critically ill husband of a friend, and too many to count illnesses and ailments and trials of friends and loved ones. There have been many, many prayers lifted up to the Father.

It wears on you.

Evening, morning and noon
I cry out in distress,
and he hears my voice. Psalm 55:17

Good to know.

We are in Leviticus 11 this week at BSF. The chapter starts off with the Israelites complaining. The chapter does not end well. I do NOT want to be a complainer.

Since Honey got the new computer up and running, and the new blog is fully operational, there has been much logging in and creating new passwords and such. This taxes my brain. I have resorted to this cute little note book to help myself.  I noticed Honey has started using it as well, without me even mentioning what I was doing.

Does everyone already have one of these? Were we the only ones who didn’t?

I have been pinning built in shelves and cupboards on Pinterest. They all feature different aspects of what I am looking for. Maybe we should have someone build what we want and post our own pictures on Pinterest. Maybe there are others looking for just what we want!

I like this. But want it to go to the ceiling. And white would not go in our home.

With this flat surface, but not the glass cupboards on the top. And not drawers on the bottom.

And with a hole in the center for our window to the kitchen, and more shelves on top of the window, but not the indented cupboards.

This is our area. I would not be sad at all to lose that useless hole in the wall on the left. I don’t know why they did that. I guess they could put a false back in and make it a skinny book shelf. Who is they? I don’t know.

Our kitchen sink is on the other side of that pass through window. I realize it’s off center, but if they can put a man on the moon, they should certainly be able to work around that. There is that mythical they again.

Well, it’s a nice wish, but it most likely will never happen. We have other things around here that NEED to happen. This project certainly falls into the would be nice column. Kind of fun to think about though 🙂

Have a good Monday.

The Weekly Sy

Mousey watching the Superbowl with her Bae. He’s a swaddler.

He’s UP!

He is also her breakfast and lunch buddy. Or a giant mooch.

But she’s his favorite.

This was the strangest thing. He had been sleeping in the big bed for hours and the next time I looked at him he was laying like this. Weirdo. I wanted to take a picture to send to The Boy and caught him mid yawn……

…and he looked like this!!! It desperately needs a caption, give your suggestion in the comments!

Now that I started the new blob I don’t have to worry about running out of space anymore! I am WALLOWING in extra space !!!

Pinterest posts are back!

I sent this to Mousey, who complains about winter more than anyone I know.

This reminds me of so many friends, and you know who you are.

Eye candy for the dog days of winter. Ahhhh. Especially love that black kitty witty in the garden.

MUST GET! Do you even know how helpful this would be for a hairdresser?? Well, let me assure you, it would be helpful! What do you think Schmenky?

Sincere, deep, genuine want.

Love this! This vaguely reminds me of something I saw on Jip the Farm Dog’s basement wall. I believe it featured her boys. And dolphins.

Did I mention to you guys that I really liked this book? If I didn’t, I really liked this book!

Must try. I am having an intervention on myself.

As Mousey is fond of saying, “cat paws are everything.””.

Have a good Thursday.

Wednesday Hodgepodge

Hi Guys, welcome to the first February Hodgepodge! If you would like to join us just click the button below and head over to Joyce’s to link up.

1. Do you wear your heart on your sleeve, or keep your emotions tucked in tight?\

I don’t land completely in either camp. I certainly do not wear my heart on my sleeve, but emotions tucked in tight doesn’t quite fit. I would say I lean more emotionally reserved. Not everyone needs to know your business.
2. How did you meet your closest friend?

I can’t answer this question the way it is written because I don’t think of friendships in terms of closest or best, rather in tiers. I always say that God blessed me in the friendship department because I do not have any sisters.

Think of it as a friendship pyramid, Friends make up the base, good friends make up the middle and confidants are the top triangle.

I have met my triangle friends in several places, churches, Bible study and one from work about 27 years ago, who introduced me to her triangle friends and we merged!

They are ALL wonderful kisses on both cheeks from a really good God.
3.  Pink lemonade, grilled salmon, cotton candy, pink grapefruit, a strawberry milkshake, or raspberry sorbet…of the pink foods listed, which one is your favorite? Least favorite? Which one have you most recently consumed?

I like raspberry sorbet the best and salmon the least. I know, I’m sorry to all you healthy salmon lovers but it just tastes fishy to me. I have most recently eaten a grapefruit, which is my second choice.
4. When were you last ‘tickled pink’ over something? Explain.

I was tickled pink when Honey got the new computer up and running!! And then when he got the Windows Live Writer hooked up!!. YAY HONEY!!!!!!!
5. Are you a fan of television talk shows? Daytime, nighttime, or both? What’s your favorite?

I don’t watch any regularly but I have seen some. My favorites would be The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and Ellen Degeneres. I think they are truly funny folks!
6. When was the last time you wanted to ask a question, but felt too foolish to do so?

This actually happened on Sunday at the end of the Superbowl. As usual, I was not paying attention to the game, so when everyone started yelling about an interception and a bad call and then a fight broke out, I was clueless. I felt like I wanted to ask what was going on but my people get annoyed when I ask a lot of questions when I am supposed to be paying attention. I weighed the pros and cons and then I remembered Cheryl, CHERYL, I.DO.NOT.CARE!!!!!

I was content.
7. My favorite __________________right now is _________________.

My Favorite TV show right now is Fixer Upper with Chip and Joanna Gaines on HGTV.
8.  Insert your own random thought here.

The Ab-Cat is a big fan of Jimmy Fallon and The Tonight Show, and she frequently shows me things she finds funny. One of our favorites is the Lip Synch Off. I have seen the latest one with Jimmy, Will Farrell and Kevin Smith on youtube and on blogs, and it IS funny, but my all time favorite is John Krasinski singing Katie Perry. Here you go. And you’re welcome.

Thanks for stopping!

Post Big Kahuna

The Mitten is having a second snow day! I think it was really more for the sake of the school busses than anything. The Ab-Cat ventured out for BSF last night and Honey went back to work.

This was during the first plow, before things really got ramped up. That’s my boyfriend, looking like a terrorist. He plowed 3 times and decided we had over 16 inches of powder.

It was piling up.

Half a tree piled up!

The next day dawned sunny and super bright. Like blink your eyes bright.

Honey said I should come out and take a picture, the house looked pretty!

I like these two tree brothers.

Cement Katie was in up to her snout.

The snow has quit, now we are in the deep freeze. 8 degrees, but at least still sunny.

The garbage men just came, their groove was thrown off yesterday. Honey just mentioned he told them to take our sad, broken garbage can, so that means a trip to Lowes or Home Depot is in my future.

On another note, the blog is coming along! Honey finally got the Windows Live Writer downloaded and I finally figured out the picture download thingy, we are now up and at’em! Which I used to think was up and Adam, and that made NO sense at all.

The one thing that is bugging me right now is the blog roll is not alphabetical. It is on the dashboard, but comes out all willy nilly on the home page. Is that a hill to die on? I go back and forth between there should be a way and let it go.

I think I will go out today. I have been in the house since I got home from my errands on Saturday afternoon, before the Big Kahuna storm. That’s not what they are calling it, that’s what I am calling it.

I went to Gordon’s Food Service to get the naan bread we use for pizza crust, down to New Mexico to get salsa for Honey and Mousey, then unfortunately had to run in to Meijer, where I found our entire town and there was not an empty cart in sight.

I think it was the perfect trifecta of events that caused the stampede. Weekend shoppers, the coming Kahuna and the Superbowl. I was glad to get out of that mad house.

After that experience I was glad to be socked in at home, but now I am ready to rejoin the masses.Maybe Sam’s, maybe we gals can go pick up our new glasses! That sounds like fun!

I’ll let you know how it goes down. Have a fun day!

Mitten in the Snow

Y’All, we are socked in up here in The Mitten. Honey said he just read we had over 16 inches out at the airport. They cancelled schools last night, which was right nice of them to let everyone know so early!

We watched the Superbowl with The Peanuts Champ and according to the complicated betting chart, three out of 4 were happy the Patriots won.

Abby said she was for the Seahawks, but I think she really only picked them because no one else did and she felt sorry for them. Anyway, there were no tears shed when they lost.

I did not bet, I’m only here for the food.

Anyone know what movie that is from? Come on Oklahoma Tammy, you may be my only hope!

Which sounds a lot like “help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope”, and if you don’t know what movie that is from you are barely an American. Or a resident of EARTH!

We made personal pizzas, had some yummy Mexican dip, salsa, grapes, Chicago popcorn, and ice cream sundaes. Oh, and doughnuts, Honey brought home the sin in a box from Tasty Boy. We were stuffed.

On one of the shoveling expeditions I took Seymour outside. Snow he no likey. His tail poofed to raccoon size.

Really spellcheck? Poofed is not a word? Go on with your bad self.

If we have poof and poofy, how can we not have poofed? Oh, we do not have poofy I guess. I beg to differ.

I have both poofed and poofy in my vocabulary, how about you?

Honey has plowed for the fourth and last time. It’s clear and sunny today and rather pretty.

I don’t imagine I will venture out. I have no needs, we have plenty of butter and cream and we have no cows to milk. Poor Pa Ingalls, even in the blizzards he had work to do.

Have a good second day of February!
