Wednesday Hodgepodge

Standard

Hi Guys, it’s good to be back! If you would like to join us, click on the link below to head over to Joyce’s and follow the instructions.

From this Side of the Pond

1. Do you try to set rules for yourself about how you use your time? Explain.

i am going to say no because that sounds more organized than I am! It’s not that I don’t ever consider my time, but rules sounds very concrete and finite and I am way more flexible with myself!
2. Monday was National Lighthouse Day. Have you ever visited a lighthouse? If not, do you have any desire to see one up close? Of the 10 Most Beautiful that made this list which would you most like to see in person-
Lindau Lighthouse (Germany), Fanad Lighthouse (Ireland), Portland Head Light (Maine), Yaquina Bay Light (Oregon) The St. Augustine Light (Florida), Peggys Point Lighthouse (Canada), Start Point Lighthouse (England), Tower of Hercules (Spain), Bass Harbor Head Station (Maine), and White Shoal Light (Michigan)
When you’ve been away, what’s your ‘lighthouse’ telling you you’re on the right road home?

I would be happy to visit any of these lighthouses. I seriously can’t recall if I have ever been inside one or way up close and personal, it seems like I have though. I have seen this lighthouse many times over the years but have never been inside. It’s in South Haven, Michigan and we were there last week! It’s waaaayyy in the distance!

There aren’t too many landmarks in our suburban town that signal we are on the right road home so I will say our exit off the highway! Whether coming off a road trip or returning from the airport, when we hit our exit I know we are almost there!
3. What have you unintentionally stopped doing? Is this something you need to pick back up and begin again, or is it something you need to let go of for now (or even permanently)?

Blogging has been very spotty this year!!! I was just mentioning to Honey yesterday that I have no good reason either. I think there is a bloggy way of thinking and I have just have to retrain myself how to do it. I can remember having lots of things to share, posts started in the drafts folder, pictures waiting for words to go with them. And yet here I am, just like the old Steve Miller song, time keeps on slippin’, slippin’, slippin’ into the future, and I have only posted once or not at all

Definitely need to pick back up!
4. We’ve had a full week of August. Share a GRAND moment from your month so far.

I spent 4 days last week in South Haven, Michigan with these lovely gals! We left in July but returned in August, so it counts!

The house we rent is only a short walk to see a beautiful sunset on Lake Michigan.

It was GRAND!
5. Tell us one song you love with the word ‘baby’ in the title.

I have baby songs on my mind! We are leaving this week for Washington state to see our son, daughter-in-law and meet their new baby girl! This was a favorite book of our children and I created a tune for the much repeated lines that our children could probably still sing to this day!

I love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living my baby you’ll be. I’m going to love singing it again. 🙂

And for a real song, Baby Love by the Supremes.
6.  Insert your own random thought here.

And speaking of our new grandbaby, here is our sweet little Moon Pie, celebrating one month! So hard to believe!

  2. The sunset pictures are gorgeous! Enjoyed seeing the cute one-month-old baby photos. Adorable! I remember reading the book you mentioned to my daughters when they were younger. It took on a different meaning when I was caregiving for my parents. Very touching book.
